RFL Makes online DBS facility available to HYRL
The RFL has now made it's online DBS process available to HYRL after Glenn Tyreman and Andy Moore attended a recent DBS Online Varifiers course.
This development means that volunteers and coaches no longer need to complete the tricky paper version which was often returned due to errors or unreadable handwriting.
The new online form is easier to use and eliminates the returned form issues, making it quicker to complete and also reduces the time it takes to obtain clearance.
DBS Varification of each club's volunteers is an important part of safeguarding the welfare of young players.
HYRL advise clubs to ensure that the following volunteer roles are supported by a complete DBS check as soon as possible:
- Coaching staff
- Team Managers (match day assistants)
- First Aiders
- Child Welfare Officers
- Touchline Managers (stewards)
- Physiotherapist (First Aid role)
- Webmasters/Social Media Moderators
- Club retained match officials
