2015 COMPETITION STRUCTURE
Provided we have enough teams the competition will be split into two divisions at each age group, Eastern & Western, so as to minimise travel as much as possible.
Based on a target of eight teams in each age group each division would consist of four teams.
The fall back options are: two divisions of three, or one division of 5 or less.
Teams are largely self sufficient, training at their own ground, with coaching support from Southampton Spitfires if needed.
Fixtures take the form of mini fixture festivals rather than weekly home or away games.
Each club is asked to host at least one fixture festival.
On match day each team will play three twenty minute games, one against each of the other three sides in their division.
The results of each game will be entered into divisional league tables.
After three festivals a team's final league placing will decide who they face from the opposite division in the end of season play-offs

ORIGIN SERIES
The Hampshire Youth Origin Series is a representative programme designed to recognise and reward the best “Talent now” playing in the Hampshire Youth League competition.
Based loosely on the Australian 'State of Origin' series, the 16 highest performing players representing the league's Eastern clubs compete in a three-match series against the 16 highest performing players from the league's Western clubs at each age group.
The series gives players an opportunity to play in a high quality training and playing environment, and also offers coaches an opportunity to develop on the coaching pathway.

Two Head Coaches and two Assistant Coaches will be selected from the coaching staff in each division to work together, co-ordinating their squad's training in the week before the game and setting their side's tactics and objectives for the game itself.
Head coaches must be level two qualified.
RFL DEVELOPMENT PATHWAY
Players selected for the Hampshire Youth Rugby League's Origin series will be eligible for recommendation by HYRL for selection by London Rugby League for their London Origin Series which takes place in late August/September.
This process aligns HYRL with the national player development pathways, opening a route for our best players to play at a higher standard. In 2014 four of our players made the London South Origin squad.
