Competition Format For 2014

By Web Editor

How it works...

At each age group the competition is split into two divisions, Eastern & Western. Starting at u12's in year 1 (2014).

Based on a target of eight teams in the first year each division will consist of four teams.

Teams are largely self sufficient, training at their own ground, with coaching support form Southampton Spitfires if needed. However, games are all played at one central location on the same day.

Match officials, first aiders, touchline managers, ground staff, changing rooms, playing pitch, set-up and close down are all provided by Hampshire Youth Rugby League Association.

Fixtures take the form of monthly festivals rather than weekly home or away games.

On match day each team will play three twenty minute games, one against each of the other three sides in their division.

The results of each game will be entered into separate Eastern and Western division league tables.

After three festivals a team's final league placing will decide who they face from the opposite division in the end of season play-offs
