New Guildford Club Joins League

Hampshire Youth Rugby League Association are delighted to announce that Surrey Sharks have entered the league for the 2015 season, becoming the sixth member club since the HYRL was formed last year.

The league was set up to help foster new clubs and enable existing clubs to grow sustainable youth teams. HYRL is a development league in all senses, it isn't just about getting kids playing, it's about bringing through new coaches, match officials and volunteers as well. It's an opportunity to grow the game and we know that the Sharks management are fully behind that ethos. We're looking forward to seeing the Sharks players of the future taking to the field in 2015

Dean Smith, Chairman of the Surrey Sharks junior section commented:

“The league is coming off a very successful first season and it is a great time for us to get involved. This is a fantastic development for our young players. It provides a natural progression for the kids who have played Minis up to the age of 11 and who are ready for the next step, while at the same time being suitable for new players who are just developing in the sport”
