Become a coach and support a HYRL team

HYRLA would like anyone who is interested in gaining a coaching qualification to contact us immediately.

If you are already assisting with coaching at a club but not yet qualified to at least UKCC Level 1 or you would like to start coaching from scratch then this is your big chance!

This should be of particular interest to anyone wishing to coach junior/youth rugby as well as senior and masters.

There are a number of Level 1 and Level 2 courses available at the moment, details of which can be found on the coachwise website: COACHWISE

The L1ACRL is designed for adults (over 16 years of age) who are looking for an introduction to working with groups of children, junior rugby league teams, or for parents of children in junior rugby league teams who want to get more involved.

The course is suitable for parents, volunteers and those with limited experience of the game and coaching. It is recommended that if you are going to coach children you attend this course. You do not have to have rugby league experience and this course is suitable for parents, players, or students in further or higher education studying a sports-related qualification. This vocational qualification is seen as the first rung on the coaching ladder.

The Level 2 course is a longer more involved process and suitable for mpre experienced players/volunteers with some knowledge of the game.

If you are interested in attending a course you MUST be free for all the course dates (check here for dates). At this stage we just need your commitment, we intend to fund the courses for at least four candidates but participants will be required to sign a coaching agreement covering a minimal level of commitment to coach between April and the end of August.

To register your interest send an email to Glenn Tyreman . Remember: you must be free for ALL the course dates at the same venue.
